About BOSTON BHANGRA

Boston Bhangra was originally founded as a dance team in 2000. It was founded based on 2 brothers who were rival Bhangra captains at Boston University and Northeastern University. Rohit and Amit would compete against one another, but they would never dance with one another due to the rivalry. Thus, Boston Bhangra was born. They united and created one of the best co-ed teams in the country with very talented dancers across Boston. Over the years, they became the most successful team in Boston:

Over the years, they chose to do more with Bhangra than just compete. They have been able to accomplish all of the following since then:

Become a non-profit (501c3) to focus on cultural awareness in 2004. (EIN: 20-0995298)
Started teaching weekly classes
Started doing performances throughout North America
Started hosting the Boston Bhangra Competition
Hosted other events related to Bhangra or promoting South Asian culture
Continue to manage a seniors bhangra team, and a juniors bhangra team
Maintain an executive board to make strategic decisions on the direction of the company

This has been quite the movement over many years, but they have managed to achieve a lot for a dance form that they have always loved.
