Teams
Thank you for your interest in the Boston Bhangra Competition. This will be our tenth annual competition and we look forward to all the great teams that are going to apply this year! Teams from the last nine competitions have deemed us one of the “best competitions” in the country, and we look forward to living up to that title again this year.
We, having been to many competitions ourselves, know what competitors look for in competitions: fun, organization, ease of travel, and of course, bhangra representation. We promise to bring you this and more, as we continually strive to bring excellence to the city of Boston and our welcomed teams from across the globe.
This year competition will be taking place on Saturday November 16th, 2013 at the world renowned Orpheum Theatre in downtown Boston.
After much deliberation and review of the many teams that applied to the competition, we are proud to present our teams for the 10th annual Boston Bhangra Competition:
We will be placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. However, more importantly than the ranking, we promise to bring the best competition and proper organization to Bhangra. Our goal is to promote our South Asian culture and our love of Bhangra in the US, and through proper organization, creativity, and planning we believe this event will help us reach that goal. Early Registration Benefits:
Along with the regular benefits highlighted below, here are the additional benefits for teams that apply early (early registration is closed):
- Your team may get selected earlier to compete at BBC 2013! This is similar to early admission in schools, where your team may get selected early, or your application may get deferred to the regular registration timeframe
- The first 5 teams to apply early, get accepted and hand in their BBC deliverables on-time to their team rep will get to pick their spot in the show
- $100/room night funding for teams travelling further than 400 miles for up to 8 hotel room nights
- $50/room night funding for teams travelling more than 200 miles for up to 8 hotel room nights
- All teams registering early will get a complimentary dvd of the competition
Regular Registration Benefits:
We will provide the following benefits for all teams that apply:
- Exclusive video shoot with E3NA on an upcoming artist music video for the winning team! (video shoot will occur on Sunday, November 17th from 6 AM – 12 PM. Teams must stay in Boston during those hours for the shoot. If the winning team can’t stay, 2nd or 3rd will be called upon as needed)
- All our BBC 2012 champions (1st, 2nd and 3rd) are automatically accepted assuming they complete the registration process
- Full application can be done online
- Discounted flights for teams
- $70/room night funding for teams travelling further than 400 miles for up to 8 hotel room nights
- $30/room night funding for teams travelling more than 200 miles for up to 8 hotel room nights
